The complete 14-day motorhome route

Motorhome road trip to Loevestein Castle from North Brabant

Day 1-2: Loevestein Castle

We start the road trip quietly with a half-hour drive and sleep near Loevestein Castle. At the end of the afternoon or in the evening, you can visit the fortified town of Woudrichem. A town packed with history: view the narrow streets, the Martinus Church, the 'Nooit Gedagt' windmill, and the Prison Gate. On the second day, you can visit the medieval Loevestein Castle. It was the state prison of the Netherlands and is world-famous because of prisoner Hugo de Groot, who managed to escape in a book chest in 1621.

Motorhome holiday and nature walking in the Hoge Veluwe

Day 2-6: The Veluwe

After soaking up some culture, you drive quietly towards the Veluwe. Just driving on the roads, you feel like you are in beautiful surroundings. You can easily entertain yourself here for a few days! Walk or cycle in the Hoge Veluwe National Park and you might spot a roe deer, red deer, or wild boar along the way. In the park (entrance ticket required) you will also find the famous Kröller-Müller Museum.

Visit former broadcasting station Radio Kootwijk during the road trip

Also visit Radio Kootwijk, an impressive former broadcasting station in a rugged environment where technology and nature meet. Here you will also find the Kootwijkerzand; sand drifts and heathlands that are not found so massively anywhere else in the Netherlands. Have you seen enough nature? Then take a trip to Apeldoorn and visit Paleis Het Loo, an original 17th-century palace of the House of Orange.

Day 6-8: Arcen

Today we say goodbye to Gelderland and discover Limburg! We start the tour in Arcen, an atmospheric village in North Limburg. Wander through the Castle Gardens from April to October or visit the old, working watermill. Grab a seat on the terrace for a bite to eat or a drink. Arcen also houses the famous Hertog Jan brewery, where you can take a guided tour. In the mood for adventure? Then visit the Toverland amusement park.

Day 8-9: De Meinweg National Park

Drive further south and make a stop at De Meinweg National Park. This is a unique park with a striking terraced landscape. Between the streams, you will find quiet ponds, vast forests, and heathlands. This forms the perfect basis for a beautiful cycling or walking tour from the motorhome.

Road trip with the luxury rental motorhome to Valkenburg in South Limburg

Day 9-12: Maastricht - Valkenburg - Vaals

In the far south of Limburg, you will find the capital Maastricht, ideal for shopping or strolling. Visit the Vrijthof and the Market Square. Just outside the city, you will find the Sint Pietersberg for a beautiful view or an impressive tour through the underground caves.

Motorhome route to the famous Three-Country Point in Vaals

You will find even more history in Valkenburg; visit the Municipal Cave or the Velvet Cave (directly under the castle ruins). Then travel on to Vaals, where your road trip suddenly gets an international touch at the Drielandenpunt (Three-Country Point): the exact spot where Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands meet.

Visit the photogenic white town of Thorn during your motorhome trip

Day 12-13: Thorn and "De Utrecht" Estate

The journey back has begun. Visit picturesque Thorn, also known as "the white town", known for its characteristic white facades, historic alleys, and monumental buildings. Finally, an authentic Brabant pearl is on the schedule: Inn "In den Bockenreyder" in Esbeek. Decipher the menu (written in the local Brabant dialect) and enjoy the atmosphere. Also walk here to the Flaes Tower for a spectacular view over the water and nature.

Day 14: Return to Beijs Roadtrips in Rijen

You drive back to Beijs Roadtrips Motorhome Rental in Rijen and return the motorhome relaxed at the agreed time.
